Privacy Policy

Webshop Mentor is run by Webshop Consulting LLC, based in Wyoming, USA. This page explains what data the site collects, why, and what you can ask me to do with it. In short: very little, and nothing is sold or used for ads.
The free speed test
When you enter a store address, my server loads that store's public pages and asks Google's Chrome UX Report for the store's speed data. Only public pages are loaded, never anything behind a login.
I keep a record of each store tested: its address, the pages checked and its speed results, stored with Neon, a database service. I may use it to contact that store about its speed. Nothing about you is saved with it, not your IP address or your browser. A store can ask to be removed through the contact form.
To stop abuse, your IP address is kept in memory for about 10 seconds to limit how many checks can run at once, then forgotten.
The store's icon next to the results is loaded from Google's favicon service, so Google receives the store address and your IP address when it shows.
Cookies
After a speed test, the site sets a cookie called store_context. It holds the store address, the store name and how slow the store was, so the audit page can speak to your store. It lasts 30 days, is only read by this site and is not used for tracking or ads.
Google Analytics also sets its own cookies (named _ga), described below.
You can delete any of them at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser. The site works the same without them.
Analytics
I use Google Analytics to see how visitors use the site: which pages they visit, where they came from, whether a speed test finished and whether the contact form was sent. Google receives your IP address and browser details to do this. Advertising features are turned off.
This applies to every visitor, wherever you are. Its _ga cookies last up to 2 years and let it recognize return visits.
To opt out, you can block or delete cookies for this site in your browser, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
The contact form
When you send a message, your name, email, store address and message are sent to me by email through Web3Forms, a form delivery service. I only use them to reply to you, and I delete them on request.
Buying an audit
Payment is handled by Stripe. I receive your name, email, the store address you enter and the amount paid. I never see or store your card details.
I keep payment records as long as tax law requires. The report I make for you is shared with you as a link and is not listed publicly or used as a case study without your permission.
Videos
Videos on audit pages come from YouTube or Loom. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play; after that, YouTube's own privacy policy applies.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running.
What the site does not do
- No advertising or ad tracking
- No selling or sharing your data with anyone beyond the services named above
Your rights
You can ask what data I hold about you, ask me to correct it or ask me to delete it. Send the request through the contact form and I'll answer within 30 days. Payment records I'm legally required to keep are the only exception.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date at the top.
Questions or requests go through the contact form. Contact
